The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Lusine Kocharyan, presented the compensation program for the rent of families displaced from Artsakh:
“The program was developed and approved considering the requests of our displaced compatriots. There were families consisting only of persons with disabilities or only elderly spouses. They not only did not want to receive a certificate but also found it difficult to search, find, negotiate, and gather documents... This was the main reason they preferred to have rented accommodation or social housing provided free of charge by the state as a shelter service:
“Eligible are families that are small in size, consisting of 2-3 people with disabilities, or family members whose age exceeds 60 years. If there are 2 people, their age must be 115 and above; if there are 3 people, it must be 175 and above. It is also a mandatory condition that they have Armenian citizenship:
“Support will be provided for 120 months - 10 years, and each family member will receive 40,000 drams as rent compensation,” noted Lusine Kocharyan:
