During the opening of the conference for the leadership of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and heads of Armenian diplomatic missions abroad in Gyumri, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan delivered a speech.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that this year's conference is special due to two reasons: it is held after the parliamentary elections in Armenia and in the context of new realities. In this context, he highlighted the continuity of Armenia's foreign policy, the consistent formation of a peaceful and cooperative environment around Armenia, the further institutionalization of peace, and the development of partnerships.
Addressing the second aspect, the Minister emphasized the importance of promoting international trade relations in the agenda of partnerships, which aligns with the new functions of the ministry.
Messages were delivered by President Vahagn Khachaturyan and National Assembly Speaker Ruben Rubinyan during the meeting.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also spoke at the conference.
The Prime Minister addressed the foreign policy priorities reflected in the government program and the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Armenian diplomatic missions abroad in implementing them.
He noted that the change in the ministry's name is based on a clear concept aimed at ensuring concrete results and increasing welfare through promoting the economic component of foreign policy. Following the speech, a discussion took place where Prime Minister Pashinyan answered questions of interest to the ambassadors.
Members of the National Assembly and the government of Armenia were also present at the start of the conference.
