"Without Justice, There Is No Peace: The EU Must Use Its Political Influence" - Siranush Sahakyan
During a discussion held in the European Parliament in Brussels, Siranush Sahakyan, the representative for Armenian prisoners' interests at the ECHR, stated that Azerbaijan does not ensure the right to confidential meetings with clients, which is an international obligation. She emphasized that there are 20 Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan, 8 of whom are representatives of the Artsakh military-political leadership.
"They are not just detainees, but are effectively used as tools in relations with Armenia," Sahakyan said.
She also noted that the EU must demand the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war, as there can be no peace without the establishment of justice.
