81 Cases of Illegal Subsoil Use Resulting in 1.4 Billion Dram Damage to the State

Environmental Inspection Reveals Illegal Cases

In 2026, the Environmental and Subsoil Inspection Authority discovered 81 cases of illegal subsoil use and concealment of extracted volumes through the use of digital tools and drones. Out of these, 24 cases were identified during inspections of companies with subsoil use rights, while 57 were uncovered through administrative proceedings initiated by the Inspection Authority.

The concealed volume of illegally extracted non-metallic minerals in these 81 cases amounted to 3,884,321.8 cubic meters. For 57 of these cases, the Inspection Authority calculated the environmental damage at 254,914,192.7 Armenian drams.

Reports of the apparent crimes have been submitted to law enforcement agencies for further action. Based on the recorded volumes, the State Revenue Committee of Armenia calculated the damage caused to the state at 1,395,393,017 Armenian drams.
