Anushik Avetyan Meets with German Bundestag Member

Development of Trade and Economic Cooperation between Armenia and Germany

The Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Anushik Avetyan, met on August 18 with Philip Hofmann, a member of the Bundestag of Germany and a member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). The meeting was also attended by Katrin Buder-Peltz, the first secretary of the German Embassy in Armenia.

During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the further development of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Germany, as well as on expanding the opportunities for exporting Armenian products to the German market. Anushik Avetyan highly appreciated the effective cooperation established with Germany, emphasizing the importance of the economic component in Armenian-German relations.

She noted that there is a broad agenda for economic and development cooperation between the two countries, within which joint work is of great significance for deepening bilateral economic ties, promoting private sector cooperation, and creating new opportunities.

Special attention was paid to the German Import Promotion Desk (IPD) initiative during the meeting, highlighting its importance in assessing the compliance of Armenian producers with the demands of the German and European markets, enhancing their export readiness, and establishing direct business connections with German importers and buyers.

The parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue cooperation and agreed to clarify possible practical directions of collaboration through further exchange of necessary information.
