Anait Avanesyan: Salaries of Most Primary Healthcare Workers Increased by 30-40%

Health Minister's Statement at a Press Conference

Health Minister Anait Avanesyan announced that the salaries of most primary healthcare workers have increased by 30-40% due to the implementation of a universal health insurance system.

She noted that some clinics are still facing financial difficulties due to previous obligations, but they are gradually settling debts to enable them to raise their specialists' salaries.

Avanesyan emphasized that the salary increase applies not only to doctors but also to mid-level medical staff.

She explained that the salary amount for specialists directly depends on the number of patients they serve, with some specialists in clinics earning monthly salaries of 1 million drams.

The Minister also reported that the average waiting time for a consultation with a primary care specialist is about two weeks.
