The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has set a meeting to propose Regulation Crypto, aimed at supporting certain digital assets offerings:
The meeting will take place on August 14 and will mark SEC's first major rulemaking process, which aims to establish more durable rules for digital assets.
SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has stated that this rulemaking is a key part of his regulatory plan and will be open for public comment.
The Reg Crypto proposal is expected to allow crypto firms to raise capital without triggering SEC registration requirements.
This regulation will join other significant steps taken by the SEC to foster the U.S. digital asset industry.
