The U.S., Armenia, and Azerbaijan Continue to Commit to the Full Implementation of the August 8 Joint Declaration

The U.S., Armenia, and Azerbaijan reaffirm their support for establishing peace in the region

The United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan continue to commit to the full implementation of the August 8 Joint Declaration:

This was stated in a release issued on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the Peace Summit at the White House.

The statement emphasizes that the three countries reaffirm their support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and legal authority of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The three countries continue to be committed to the full implementation of the August 8 Joint Declaration in accordance with its letter and spirit, as well as the revelation of the region's exceptional economic potential,” the statement reads.

A year ago, Yerevan and Baku signed a preliminary peace agreement at the White House.

“Real peace is never built in one day, but as President Trump says, ‘Promises made are promises kept,’” the statement notes.
