The US Expands Sanctions Against Iran

The US Treasury has frozen $130 million in wallets

The US has expanded sanctions against Iran. The US Treasury announced that it has frozen $130 million in wallets linked to Iran's central bank. This was stated by US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant in a post on platform X.

"The US Treasury is committed to disrupting and undermining Iran's illegal financial activities, including the abuse of digital assets. Today, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury imposed sanctions on several wallets associated with Iran's central bank, resulting in the freezing of over $130 million," Besant noted.

This decision came after US forces struck Iran for the fourth consecutive day while simultaneously resuming the blockade of Iranian ports. Iran has retaliated by striking American targets in the region.
