The U.S., Armenia, and Azerbaijan issued a joint statement marking the first anniversary of the Peace Summit held at the White House on August 8, 2025, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry reported.
The statement notes that one year ago, President Trump hosted a historic summit at the White House with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during which Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev signed the Joint Declaration on Peace.
It also notes that, in the presence of the three leaders, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed the draft Agreement on Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
“On this first anniversary, there is a profound sense of pride in all that our countries have achieved together, and great determination to continue building on the foundation that ended decades of conflict and put the South Caucasus on a path toward a more prosperous future. In recognition of this historic and tremendous effort to secure peace, Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev jointly nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
