The United States will impose unprecedented sanctions on Iran, announced the US Secretary of the Treasury. In an interview with Newsmax, Scott Besent stated that details will be announced next week.
“This will be a combination of unprecedented measures of economic isolation and the continued blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in nothing being able to enter or exit Iranian ports,” Besent noted.
Recently, the spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the habit of the US to impose sanctions is a dangerous “dependency.”
