The US Embassy in Armenia announced that the opening of the artificial intelligence (AI) plant by Firebird marks a new and significant phase in the development of AI in Armenia. The $4 billion investment signifies the arrival of advanced American technologies and AI infrastructure in Armenia, allowing the country to position itself as a regional hub for data processing, cloud computing, and AI innovations.
The statement highlights that the opening of the AI center is a bright example of the deepening Armenian-American partnership and a practical step towards implementing agreements reached at the Washington Peace Summit.
The first phase of the plant, located near Razdan, is set to be equipped with over 6000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, with an investment of $500 million allocated for this phase.
The second phase will significantly expand the infrastructure to include approximately 50,000 next-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs, establishing one of the largest clusters of advanced AI computing power in developing markets.
