YEREVAN, August 10. /ARKA/. The opening of the Firebird AI factory in Razdan marks a new stage in the development of artificial intelligence in Armenia and contributes to the introduction of advanced American technologies and AI infrastructure in the country, the US Embassy in Armenia stated.
US Chargé d'Affaires David Allen, along with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Firebird management, participated in the opening of the company's AI center.
According to the embassy's statement, the project involves the implementation of advanced American technologies and artificial intelligence infrastructure, which, according to the diplomatic mission, will allow Armenia to position itself as a regional center for data centers, cloud computing, and AI innovations.
The US Embassy also described the opening of the AI center as a visible example of the expanding Armenian-American partnership and a practical continuation of the agreements reached in Washington on August 8, 2025.
At that time, Armenia and the USA signed three memoranda of understanding, one of which concerns innovative partnership in the field of artificial intelligence and semiconductors.
According to Allen, the combination of American and Armenian talents and innovations opens new prospects for economic growth, technological transformation, and increased prosperity.
The Firebird AI factory in Razdan is the first of its kind in the CIS, created based on NVIDIA technologies. The first site of the center includes 6144 NVIDIA B200 graphics processors and has a capacity of 15 MW.
In July 2025, initial investments in the project at the startup stage were estimated at approximately $500 million. Firebird plans further scaling of the infrastructure: according to the company's current data, the next phase in Armenia is designed for 125 MW and 75,000 next-generation GPUs, and total investments could potentially reach around $5 billion.
NVIDIA previously reported that by the end of 2027, Firebird expects to deploy more than 70,000 GPUs of the Rubin and Blackwell generations in Armenia and increase the AI infrastructure capacity to 300 MW. One of the first users of the center's computing power was the company Perplexity.
The project is being implemented with the support of the governments of Armenia and the USA. The energy infrastructure of the facility is provided by Schneider Electric, the cooling system by Vertiv, and the computing power is deployed on Dell PowerEdge servers.
