Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that the “Zangezur corridor” is also known as the TRIPP route. According to Trend, the statement was included in his message to participants of the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.
Aliyev said Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of the East-West and North-South corridors, has become an important link and gateway between Asia and Europe.
He noted that the Middle Corridor connects Central Asia via the Caspian Sea with the South Caucasus, Turkey and Europe. The emerging “Zangezur corridor,” which Aliyev also referred to as the TRIPP route, will further strengthen Azerbaijan’s role as a regional hub, he said.
In Aliyev’s assessment, the route will create new opportunities for trade, investment and industrial cooperation across Eurasia.
