'A de facto peace has been established between Azerbaijan and Armenia.' This was stated by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, during a joint press conference with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in Baku.
Aliyev also mentioned that Azerbaijan is the main trading partner of the European Union in the South Caucasus region. According to him, there are broad opportunities to further strengthen cooperation and to elevate it to a new level through the efforts of both sides.
'We highly value our relationship with the European Commission. Today we discussed a very broad and quite comprehensive agenda. The European Union accounts for more than 40 percent of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover,' Aliyev stated.
