Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk has rejected Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's claims regarding the 'toxicity' of Russian Railways for Armenia. Overchuk stated that RZD continues to carry out international transport, including transit supplies through Russia to Europe, and that there are no questions regarding sanctions against the company. 'No one raises questions about the toxicity or sanctions concerning Russian Railways except Pashinyan,' he said.
He also noted that Armenia has not made any official requests to Russia regarding the potential transfer of the South Caucasus Railway concession. Pashinyan had stated on August 24 that Yerevan is asking Moscow to sell the concession for managing the railways in the republic to a third party acceptable to both sides.
