The Prosecutor General's Office reported that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the activities of the '88' supermarket chain.
The case was initiated on February 26, 2023, but the prosecutor's office did not provide information on which article the case was initiated under.
The name of Narek Nalbandyan, known for acquiring 'illegal properties' from former owners, has often been linked to the wife of the Prime Minister, Anna Hakobyan.
Media reports indicate that stores in the regions are being taken from their owners and turned into '88' supermarkets, which is happening with the consent of the Prime Minister's wife.
Anna Hakobyan denied this information last year, insisting that she has no connection to the '88' supermarket chain.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has instructed law enforcement to initiate investigations to determine whether Narek Nalbandyan is indeed trying to link the Prime Minister's family's name with his businesses.
