Wildberries has begun testing a new tool that will help buyers better understand how well the photos published in customer reviews reflect the actual appearance of products. A special label, “Similar to AI,” will appear in the mobile app for media files where the system has detected signs of processing or creation using artificial intelligence tools.
This label may appear next to the photo associated with a review if algorithms detect significant editing or elements created with artificial intelligence. At the same time, the label does not mean that the review is false or unreliable. It simply helps the buyer consider that the image may have been altered when making a purchasing decision.
The tool is based on algorithms for automatic analysis of media files that identify visual characteristics processed by AI. Wildberries does not hide or remove such reviews solely because of the presence of this label; the new tool provides buyers with additional information to help them make more informed choices.
The new feature is already being tested and is available to some users of the Wildberries app.
The company continues to develop trust and transparency tools to make it easier for buyers to evaluate products based on reviews, while allowing sellers to maintain honest and open communication with their audience.
