During a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the investment priorities plan for the government of Armenia in Yerevan and Gyumri was discussed. Initially, the issue of ensuring 24-hour water supply was presented, emphasizing that while there is a 24-hour water supply, periodic outages occur on heavy load days. A program for modernizing water supply systems needs to be implemented:
Within the framework of creating a tourism cluster, approximately 6.6 billion drams have been invested in Gyumri under the “Local Economy and Infrastructure Development” program. An additional investment of 16.5 million dollars is planned for the development of the tourism cluster under the “Tourism of Armenia and Regional Infrastructure” program. In this regard, it is proposed to include the renovation projects for Victory Park, the central market, and the fountain on Manushyan Street in the program, which will contribute to the balanced development of the city:
The next issue related to the final resolution of the shanty houses problem. It was reported that as of July 1, 2026, there are 2465 shanty houses in Gyumri. It was noted that, according to preliminary estimates, the government has compensation obligations towards approximately 596 families living in these houses:
Regarding the complete renovation of the 37 streets in the Ani and Austrian neighborhoods, it was noted that design work is currently underway. It is also proposed to simultaneously improve the courtyard areas, build playgrounds, mini-football fields, and conduct lighting networks:
