The Armenian government has established a unified standard for the state database, which will be used to input all data regarding physical and legal persons.
The Director of the Digital Systems Agency of Armenia, Nerses Yeritsyan, announced at a government meeting that electronic files will replace documents in the future when providing public services.
As previously reported, each unit of information (for example, personal data of an individual) will be entered into the database only once. After that, any state body will no longer need to request documents from the individual; they will obtain them from the database.
Private companies providing systemic services (banks, telecommunications operators, electric networks, etc.) will also be able to obtain data for their work with clients.
The draft decision specifically states that electronic extracts of documents obtained from the state database have no less legal force than the original documents. This will allow state bodies and private companies to avoid requiring citizens to provide original documents “in any case.”
