More than 630 million drams, interest on deposits, shares in real estate, and a parking space will be confiscated from former President Serzh Sargsyan in favor of Armenia, according to the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the report, the Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the confiscation of property of illegal origin against Serzh Sargsyan and related individuals on July 3.
Once the court ruling comes into legal force, the following will be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia: 38% of an apartment located on Teryan Street in the Central administrative district of Yerevan, one parking space on the same street in full, and 38% of another parking space, as well as a total of 202 million 998 thousand drams deposited in the bank, a total of 74 million 716 thousand drams in accumulated interest on those deposits, and 352 million 438 thousand drams, as reported by the Prosecutor's Office.
The former president's lawyer had previously described the application submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court against Serzh Sargsyan and his daughters as illegal and artificial in an interview with Azatutyun.
