Rubén Vardanyan's lawyer, Siranush Sahakyan, will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). She noted that they have finally managed to obtain Vardanyan's verdict, which is necessary to initiate proceedings at the ECHR.
“We will demonstrate that the charges are political and that no individual criminal act has ever been committed by Mr. Vardanyan,” said Sahakyan.
After the closure of the Red Cross office in Baku, Armenian citizens have been deprived of the opportunity to access their verdicts for 8 months.
The ECHR has issued an interim decision stating that by August 31, Azerbaijani authorities must present the verdicts of 15 Armenian citizens.
