Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, will not continue his role in the new government following the parliamentary elections:
According to Armenpress, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a press briefing with journalists after the government meeting on July 9.
"Mkhitar Hayrapetyan himself did not want to continue his activities in the new government," said the Prime Minister.
In response to a question about Alen Simonyan's political activities after resigning from the position of Speaker of the National Assembly, where the journalist used the expression "political fate," Prime Minister Pashinyan noted.
"There can be no talk of Alen Simonyan's political fate. The discussion is about the format of his future involvement; we are currently discussing, thinking, and if there are solutions, we will inform you."
The parliamentary elections in Armenia took place on June 7. In the newly formed 9th National Assembly, the "Civil Contract" will have 64 mandates, "Strong Armenia" will have 29 mandates, and the "Armenia" alliance will have 12 mandates. The Civil Contract will form a new government, and recently, questions regarding the future of current ministers have intensified. Pashinyan has already stated that the composition will not undergo significant changes.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan has held the position of Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia since 2023.
