The UK's cost to achieve its net-zero and clean energy goals is a massive $667 billion, which could become an economic burden for businesses and consumers.
Stuart Broadley, CEO of the Energy Industries Council, noted that the necessary energy and infrastructure projects would cost £500-600 billion ($667-800 billion).
He emphasized that the accelerated race for net-zero energy development imposes an economic penalty on the UK, which could last for 10 years.
Broadley suggested that the government create independent bodies to address policy issues.
