The UK, Netherlands, Finland, and Poland have announced significant progress in developing a new defense funding mechanism known as the Multinational Defense Mechanism (MDM), aimed at attracting private investments to strengthen allies' defense capabilities.
According to a joint statement from the four countries, the creation of the mechanism is expected to be completed by 2027. In the fall, the states plan to move to the next phase of the project and expand the coalition of participants.
This is expected to allow allies to coordinate defense spending more effectively and enhance operational compatibility within NATO.
