The cost of new biometric cards in Armenia will be 5850 drams

New biometric cards will be available in the fall of 2026

The cost of new biometric identification cards in Armenia will be 5850 drams. This was announced by Nelly Davtyan, head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia:

“The cards will be issued for a period of 5 years and will cost 5850 drams. Existing cards will remain valid for the next ten years,” she added:

It should be noted that in December 2022, the government suspended the issuance of biometric passports for 2 years, while extending the issuance of old sample passports:

For more than 10 years, passports and ID cards in Armenia were supplied by the Polish company PWPW, with which the contract ended on January 1, 2017:

On April 1, 2025, it was announced that the winner of the competition for the implementation of the biometric system in Armenia was the consortium “IDEMIA Identity Security France and A.C.I. Technology S.à.r.l.”:
