Armenian Fruits, Vegetables, and Wine: Major Export Figures in June

Armenia achieved an export volume of 3 billion drams under the export promotion program in June

Armenia achieved an export volume of 3 billion drams under the export promotion program in June. This was announced by the Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, during a government meeting on July 9.

The minister noted that at the beginning of June, the government had implemented a support program aimed at diversifying markets, under which financial assistance is provided for the export of greenhouse products of Armenian origin, fresh fruits, as well as certain types of food and beverages.

According to Papoyan, a draft decision is currently being presented, which aims to reimburse the obligations of exporters that arose from exports carried out in June.

“To fulfill the obligations formed in June for the implementation of the program, it is necessary to reimburse a total of 3 billion 140 million drams,” the minister noted.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responding to the figures, stated that the reimbursement of 3 billion drams is a significant indicator and reflects the large volumes of exports.

According to the data presented by the Minister of Economy, in June, 784 tons of peppers, 200 tons of tomatoes, 109 tons of strawberries, about 3000 tons of apricots, 1400 tons of cherries, around 1.5 million liters of bottled natural mineral water, and approximately 230 thousand bottles of grape wine were exported.

Pashinyan mentioned that the balancing policy in Armenia's economy continues, and these export figures, according to him, indicate the recorded progress.
