Vanilla Ice Cream Production Halted in Armenia

Martin Star Company Disputes Inspection Results

YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. The Armenian food safety inspection authority has suspended the production of vanilla ice cream by Martin Star LLC due to "non-compliance with safety requirements," while the company disputes the results of the regulator's inspection.

According to the regulator's press service, during an inspection at the company's dairy production facility in Yerevan, violations of food safety and hygiene legislation were identified. It was noted that laboratory tests showed that a sample of the product "Vanilla Ice Cream Brick" did not meet the requirements of the Customs Union technical regulation "On the Safety of Milk and Dairy Products" regarding the level of coliform bacteria.

By the decision of the head of the inspection authority, the production of this type of product has been suspended until the identified violations are rectified.

In response to a request from the ARKA agency, Martin Star LLC stated that it disagrees with the results of the inspection. The company's statement noted that tests of ice cream from the same batch, conducted in an accredited laboratory included in the official list of the inspection authority, as well as in the company's own laboratory, found no violations, including regarding the level of coliform bacteria.

"The company has formally notified the Inspection Authority of the research results. Such tests are conducted for all types and batches of produced ice cream," the statement said.

The company also emphasized that it pays special attention to compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements in production and considers consumer health protection a priority.
