Armenia is paying close attention to the opportunities for developing energy cooperation with Turkmenistan and is interested in expanding collaboration in the gas sector. This was stated by Armenia's ambassador to Turkmenistan, Arsen Avagyan, in an interview with the online publication Turkmenportal.
"Armenia consistently pursues a policy of enhancing energy security and diversifying energy supply sources, and is keenly interested in opportunities for developing cooperation with Turkmenistan in the energy sector, considering Turkmenistan's potential, which, possessing some of the largest natural gas reserves in the world, is an important player in the international energy market," he said.
According to the diplomat, energy traditionally occupies an important place in the cooperation agenda between the two countries.
"We see prospects in other areas as well, including experience exchange, development of modern energy technologies, and implementation of mutually beneficial projects," the ambassador emphasized.
