During a meeting with the Minister of Economy of Armenia, a Russian expert stated that the price of Russian gas for Armenia will depend on the circumstances that arise by April, when the current gas contract expires.
Vladimir Avatkov, head of the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, emphasized that Armenia must determine its foreign policy direction, and that support from Russia will not be provided if Armenia moves towards Europe.
Currently, the price of Russian gas for Armenia is set at $177.5 per 1000 cubic meters, while the internal tariff for the population remains unchanged at 143.7 drams per cubic meter.
