European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced in Baku plans to deepen the partnership between the European Union and Azerbaijan in several key areas. She shared this on the social media platform X.
“The EU believes in a bright future for the South Caucasus — peaceful and prosperous. We want to help build this future. I am also here to deepen the partnership between the EU and Azerbaijan. From trade to transport. From energy to the economy,” she stated.
The head of the European Commission arrived in Azerbaijan on July 1 for a working visit, where she will hold talks with President Ilham Aliyev. On July 2, von der Leyen will arrive in Armenia, where she is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
