In Armenia and the South Caucasus, just one month after the launch of the first AI plant Eleveight AI using NVIDIA Blackwell technology, the initial capacity has been fully booked, and the company has already begun expansion efforts. This was reported by Eleveight AI.
“The response was faster than we anticipated. Our initial computational capacity was fully booked in just a few weeks, and we are already building the next phase of the first stage (Stage 2). This confirms that the demand for sovereign, high-quality AI computing infrastructure in the region is real. Our goal is to responsibly expand this infrastructure and strengthen Armenia's position as a regional AI hub,” said Arman Aleksanyan, co-founder and CEO of Eleveight AI.
The current capacity of the plant at 1.5 MW has been completely booked. As part of the first phase of expansion, it is planned to more than triple the current capacity to 5 MW. By the end of the second phase, the total capacity will reach 40 MW. This pace reflects the growing demand from both Armenia and international markets.
The AI plant, built in the village of Gagarin in the Gegharkunik region, is the first AI plant in Armenia and the South Caucasus operating on NVIDIA Blackwell technology, as well as the first phase of a $120 million investment project, of which $70 million has already been implemented. It operates with 512 NVIDIA Blackwell B300 GPUs and is available to both Armenian and international clients through dedicated and shared access models.
At this event, NVIDIA Vice President Rev Lebaredyan noted: “Agent-based and physical AI are transforming data centers into factories for intelligence production. By implementing NVIDIA Blackwell infrastructure in Armenia, Eleveight AI is laying the foundation for a sovereign AI ecosystem, enabling researchers and organizations in the region to build and apply advanced AI models.”
The AI data center was officially launched on June 1 in the presence of government representatives, technology sector representatives, and international partners. The project launch was announced by Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, who emphasized its strategic importance: “The AI plant lays one of the cornerstones of Armenia's future economy. This project makes Armenia not only a consumer and user of advanced technologies but also a country that creates and offers them to the global market.”
The demand for sovereign AI infrastructure is rapidly growing worldwide. According to forecasts by Fortune Business Insights, by 2034 this market will reach $1.13 billion. In response to this growing demand, Eleveight AI is ready not only to meet market needs but also to expand its scale simultaneously,” the statement said.
