The trade turnover among the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) may increase by 7.3% by 2026, reaching $102 billion. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, at an expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Cholpon-Ata.
“Mutual trade continues to be an important factor for economic growth. Last year, the trade turnover within the EAEU amounted to $95 billion, decreasing by 3.5%. This year, a recovery in growth is expected, with an increase of 7.3% to $102 billion,” he noted.
Smailov emphasized that despite the existing challenges, the economies of the EAEU member states continue to maintain stability and potential for further growth and development.
He highlighted that the free movement of goods is one of the fundamental principles of Eurasian integration and plays a crucial role in deepening the economic cooperation of the union.
