US President Donald Trump had a one-and-a-half-hour phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and offered his assistance in ending the Russian-Ukrainian war, reported Putin's assistant Yuri Ushakov.
According to Ushakov, Trump made the offer during a phone call that took place the day before on US Independence Day, in the context of his participation in the NATO summit scheduled for next week in Turkey.
“The American president reaffirmed his readiness to work on quickly stopping hostilities and finding solutions to overcome the crisis,” Ushakov informed.
Describing the discussion as “practical and quite constructive,” Ushakov noted that Moscow “seeks to find a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict, taking into account Russia's fundamental approaches.”
