The Prosecutor's Office demands the return of a specially protected natural area under the illegal possession of former Minister of Environment Aram Harutyunyan to the Republic of Armenia; the state interest lawsuit has been accepted by the court. This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The Anti-Corruption Court has accepted the lawsuit of the Prosecutor General's Office against the Dilijan community, Arthur Arshakyan, and former Minister of Environment Aram Harutyunyan regarding the invalidation of the auction held on October 12, 2012, for a land plot of 0.8 hectares located at 29/24 Maxim Gorky Street, Dilijan, as well as the invalidation of the real estate sale agreement signed between Arthur Arshakyan and Aram Harutyunyan on June 20, 2017, and the application of consequences of invalidity, including the demand for the return of the 0.8-hectare land plot to the Dilijan community from the illegal possession of Aram Harutyunyan.
At the same time, precautionary measures have been applied, and the respondent Aram Harutyunyan has been prohibited from taking actions that would change the actual or legal status of the land plot mentioned in the lawsuit.
The Prosecutor's Office, during the investigation carried out within the framework of its authority to protect state (municipal) interests, found that the 0.8-hectare land plot is a land of "environmental forest" functional designation, included in the list of restrictions of Article 60 of the Land Code, which could not be alienated to individuals.
