The leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party, Gagik Tsarukyan, was subjected to searches that lasted about 13 hours. The party's press secretary, Iveta Tonoyan, stated that these searches could be registered in the Guinness Book of Records as one of the longest investigative actions.
She noted that the authorities' actions against Tsarukyan are damaging the Armenian economy, as his business pays millions in taxes.
Tonoyan also emphasized that the accusations against Tsarukyan are absurd and unfounded.
"We are receiving numerous calls about the doors of many companies being closed, and people are forced to go on leave," she added.
Tsarukyan is accused of financial crimes, and his confiscated animals have been moved to the Yerevan zoo.
