According to data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the volume of freight transport for January-May 2026 amounted to 6,277.8 thousand tons. Compared to the comparable indicator of 2025, there was an increase of 2.7%:
In particular, the volume of railway freight transport increased by 28.4% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 758.3 thousand tons. This includes 192.3 thousand tons of exports, 320.9 thousand tons of imports, and 245.1 thousand tons of domestic freight transport.
The volume of road freight transport decreased by 3.5% compared to January-May 2025 and amounted to 4,467.2 thousand tons. This includes 271.0 thousand tons of exports, 1,718.4 thousand tons of imports, and 2,477.8 thousand tons of domestic freight transport.
The volume of air freight transport increased by 18.1% compared to the comparable indicator of the previous year and amounted to 18.9 thousand tons. This includes 10.3 thousand tons of exports and 8.6 thousand tons of imports.
The volume of pipeline freight transport increased by 18% compared to the same period in 2025 and amounted to 1,033.4 thousand tons.
