In Armenia, there is a serious problem of legal security. Political authorities constantly publicly announce the initiation of criminal and other cases against certain individuals, after which the entire law enforcement system, investigative bodies, the prosecutor's office, and courts begin to execute this political directive.
This was stated by one of the lawyers of the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, Yerevan Sarkisyan, responding to the announcement by the country's prosecutor's office that the cement plant belonging to his client has come under state management.
“In this case, a political directive was given regarding Gagik Tsarukyan, which clearly stated the criminal processes, his arrest, imprisonment, confiscation of property, including the nationalization of 'Araratcement,' and the appointment of a manager, which the entire law enforcement system diligently executes daily,” noted the lawyer.
He also pointed out that despite assurances that all processes have a legal basis, the reality speaks otherwise.
