IMF Confirms Russia's GDP Growth Forecast for 2026-2027

Russia's GDP is projected to grow by 1.1% in 2026 and 2027

The International Monetary Fund has confirmed its forecast that Russia's GDP will grow by 1.1% in 2026 and 2027. This is stated in the organization's report on the prospects for global economic development, published in Washington.

IMF experts have left unchanged the estimates presented in April, according to which Russia's GDP will grow by 1.1% in 2026. The forecast for a 1.1% growth in 2027 has also been confirmed.

According to the data presented, Russia's GDP grew by 4.9% in 2024 and by 1% in 2025.

The IMF noted that economic growth in developing markets in Europe is expected to remain subdued at around 2%.

“The increase in export revenues, which is particularly driven by rising prices for raw materials, partially improves the state of the Russian economy, allowing it to maintain an economic growth rate of 1.1%,” the report states.
